With everything going on in the world, it can be easy to lose hope. But if you look a little more closely, you'll see a community of helpers showing up to make a difference. They may not be in the headlines, but they're the ones behind the scenes making their community a little bit brighter.

Here are just a few ways you can volunteer in your community:

• Prepare a meal for a family so their children don't have to do homework on an empty stomach
• Provide support for a woman healing from domestic violence
• Help the young child of farmworkers learn English so they are prepared to succeed in school and life

Chicanos Por La Causa (CPLC) is a non-profit organization providing grassroots community services across the Southwestern United States. Our organization began with a group of student and community activists in the 1960s and has grown to become a staple in the community for families and neighbors who need a helping hand. We provide direct services in Health & Human Services, Housing, Education, Economic Development, and Advocacy.
