CPLC Honors Teachers at Esperanza Latino Teacher Awards

CPLC was proud to honor four Arizona teachers as well as AZ Superintendent of Public Instruction Kathy Hoffman at this year's Esperanza Latino Teacher Awards.

The event took place at Gammage Auditorium at Arizona State University. At the event, Superientendent Hoffman announced her goal to finally repeal Arizona's innefective "English Only" policy this year.

This year's K-12 teacher honorees included:

  • Daniel Garcia, Villago Middle School -  Casa Grande
  • Cecelia Padilla, Cragin Elementary School - Tucson
  • Reyna Damian, Irene Lopez Elementary School - Phoenix
  • Ana Rosa Duarte Fajardo Abbott, Santan Junior High - Chandler

Each honoree received a $5,000 cash award and a stipend of $2,500 to their respective schools.
