Individuals and families who are at risk of homelessness or are homeless due to the COVID-19 Pandemic can now receive assistance from Chicanos Por La Causa (CPLC).

The Arizona Department of Housing awarded CPLC a grant to enable the organization to serve those whose housing status has changed as a result of the pandemic.

“Chicanos Por La Causa has a longstanding history of supporting communities for more than 40 years. We are intentional in our efforts to bring additional resources and wraparound services from social services to education and economic development opportunities to empower lives and meet the growing needs of the people we serve,” said David Adame, President & CEO of Chicanos Por La Causa. “We look forward to offering assistance to anyone who may need it.”

CPLC believes that everyone deserves the power to live a meaningful life. Its programs give individuals and families a seat at the table. CPLC facilitates growth through five Areas of Impact: Health & Human Services, Housing, Education, Economic Development, and Advocacy. With offices in Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, and Texas, we impact more than 2 million lives every year.

CPLC formed in 1969 to fight discrimination against the Mexican American community. Inspired by Dolores Huerta and Cesar Chavez, CPLC advocated for equity in education, politics, and labor conditions. Today, CPLC provides services to people of all backgrounds while honoring its Mexican-American roots.
