SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
Thomas Espinoza/CPLC Scholarship to Arizona State University
This scholarship program began in 1998 designed to assist students in need of financial support to complete their undergraduate degree. To date, more than 900 scholarships have been awarded, with a value of more than $3,300,000.
The scholarships provide a tuition waver to Arizona State University students who are committed to helping others. CPLC and its partnering sponsors are dedicated to empowering future community leaders who are interested in developing innovative strategies to improve the communities of Arizona.

Maricopa County Community College Scholarship
The primary goal of the CPLC/MCCD Scholarship Program is to provide financial assistance and support to outstanding Arizona students to attend and graduate from one of the Maricopa County’s ten community colleges. To date, over 240 scholarships have been awarded with a total value of more than $360,000.

Querer Es Poder (Desire is Power)
Querer Es Poder (Desire is Power) is an eighth grade scholarship program offered to middle school youth in Tucson, AZ. Participating middle school students are nominated by teachers, counselors or other school personnel based on attendance, extra curricular activites and academic improvement. Students are then required to submit a written essay on a selected topic. Upon a completed evaluation by a panel of community leaders, winners receive a one thousand dollar ($1,000) college scholarship. The amount of scholarships awarded is based on fund raising and can range between 5-20 winners. The scholarship award is kept in the CPLC Tucson Foundation until the student graduates from high school and enrolls in post-secondary education.
Nomination process begins in February, and essays are due on April 1st. Winners are announced the first week of May.

Rosie Lopez Student Advocate Scholarship Program
The primary goal of the Arizona Hispanic Community Forum (AHCF) and the Rosie Lopez Student Advocate Scholarship Program is to provide financial assistance and support to outstanding Arizona Latino students to attend and graduate from Arizona State University.
