TRUCE
Truce works directly with very high-risk youth to connect them with services and opportunities, such as education and employment. Outreach Workers help provide safety and assistance for individuals to always resolve conflicts through nonviolent means. Outreach Workers also respond to gunshot trauma cases to intervene in conflicts and prevent further violence.
Responses to Shootings
Truce mobilizes the community to respond to each shooting and inform all involved that shootings are not acceptable. Truce collaborates with residents, schools, faith leaders, and
social service agencies to help distribute public education materials to help spread the message: Start the Peace. Stop the Violence.
Public Education
Truce utilizes multiple forms of communication, including posters, fliers, door hangers, and bumper stickers, to raise awareness of TRUCE, change social norms, and promote nonviolence.
Community Collaboration
Truce encourages community groups and agencies to focus their efforts specifically on violence and to share the message that shootings are serious matters that will not be tolerated.
