Edmundo Hidalgo – President/Chief Executive Officer
Edmundo Hidalgo serves as President and CEO of Chicanos Por La Causa, Inc. (CPLC). Prior to being appointed President and CEO, Edmundo had served as the agency's Chief Operations Officer since 1999.
CPLC is a statewide community development corporation with more than 40 years of experience serving communities in the areas of Education, Economic Development, Housing and Health and Human Services. Edmundo's dynamic leadership has led to double-digit growth in each of the past five years and has catapulted the organization into a highly visible advocate for social and economic development, particularly in low-income Latino communities.
Edmundo is an active member of several boards and commissions. He is the Chair of the Maricopa Community Colleges Foundation, the Treasurer of Sonoran Bank and a Board member of the Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce. He is also an active member of Audubon Arizona and the National Association of Latino Asset Builders. He was honored as a 2008 Fellow of the Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust and a 2005 Minority Small Business Champion of the Year by the U.S. Small Business Administration's Arizona District Office.
Edmundo grew up in the southern Arizona town of San Luis. He has a B.A. in Economics and earned his MBA from Arizona State University in 2000. He has been married for 20 years to his wife Rosanna and has two sons, Jonathan and Matthew.
Arjelia "Argie" Gomez ~ Chief Operating Officer
Arjelia "Argie" Gomez is Chief Operating Officer of Chicanos Por La Causa, Inc. As CPLC's COO, Argie is responsible for the strategic operational leadership of CPLC's statewide services. In addition to driving innovation and effective business practice, she oversees corporate operations, internal operations and key relations to drive system-wide quality and results. Prior to her appointment as COO, she has served as Vice President of Statewide Behavioral Health Services for CPLC since 2006.
On a daily basis, Argie will partner with vice-president leaders to oversee the organization's statewide social service network -- including behavioral health, migrant head start, charter schools, prevention, elderly services, men's residential substance abuse and the women's domestic violence shelter program -- as well as the Human Resources and Strategic Communications areas of business.
Born in Superior, AZ, Argie began her career as a probation officer with the Pinal County Juvenile Court. She progressed to the Foster Care Review Board and then worked as Program Manager and later Director of Juvenile Justice Services with the Arizona Supreme Court. Following that, she served as Legislative Liason, Public Information Officer and Chief of Community Services for the Arizona Department of Juvenile Corrections. Her work continued with the Southwest Key Program, which took her around the country and to Puerto Rico, where she served as the Chief Operating Officer.
For more than 32 years, Argie has successfully led community development initiatives in the government and judicial sectors, child welfare, legislative action committees, the Arizona Regional Behavioral Health Authority and Tribal Regional Behavioral Health Authority. She is committed to sustained economic growth and effective service provision for underserved communities. Argie holds a B.S. in Criminal Justice from Northern Arizona University, Public Relations and Leadership training from the University of Texas in Austin and an MBA from Grand Canyon University.
Argie has been happily married to husband Robert for 8 years. She has three bonus children: Robbie, Miki and Rachel. She enjoys softball, baseball, reading and relaxing with friends. Argie's mother, Amparo, has served as a symbol of strength throughout the years and a role model in servant leadership to strengthen communities.
David Adame ~ Chief Development Officer
David Adame joined CPLC as Chief Development Officer in March 2008. As part of his responsibilities, Adame is responsible for managing CPLC's statewide multifamily and single-family development company Tiempo inc., commercial and retail development company Agudo, property management companies Tiempo and Agudo, construction company La Causa Construction, economic development and joint venture activities, real estate companies Tiempo and La Causa Realty, housing counseling programs, commercial loan company Comercio and Prestamos, and resource development.
Prior to joining CPLC, Adame served as Vice President of Arizona Operations for McCormack Baron & Salazar. Adame was responsible for overseeing the firm’s role in Henson Village, a HOPE VI project located in Phoenix, Arizona that is funded in part by a $35 million grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. This 611-unit mixed-income/mixed-financed residential development has a total development cost of $115 million.
Prior to joining McCormack Baron & Salazar in 2003, Adame was the Senior Deputy Director of Fannie Mae’s Arizona Partnership Office. Working in tandem with the Director, Adame was responsible for implementing "HouseArizona," a five-year, $15 billion investment plan to finance affordable housing throughout the state.
David also spent three years as Program Officer with the Phoenix Office of the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), where he managed the HOMESTART program, a for-sale affordable housing development project. He also worked for Bank One Arizona for eight years, managing and underwriting residential and commercial loans.
Adame holds a B.S. in Business from Arizona State University (ASU) and an MBA from the ASU School of Global Management.
Martin Quintana ~ Chief Financial Officer
Martin Quintana serves as Chief Financial Officer of Chicanos por La Causa, Inc., overseeing the organization's finance, information technology services, quality assurance and corporate compliance. Formerly, Martin served as Executive Vice President of Corporate Services for CPLC. He has more than 20 years of financial and operational management experience in both for-profit and non-profit environments. Prior to joining CPLC in 1998, Martin was Finance Manager for Kraft/Alliant Foods in Dallas, Texas and Phoenix, Arizona.
While completing his undergraduate studies, Martin was president of the Arizona State University Hispanic Business Students Association and is a past president and current member of the Hispanic Business Alumni of ASU. He also served as a member of the Finance Committee for the Arizona Hispanic Chamber of Commerce’s Board of Directors. Martin also served as a volunteer panelist for Enlace, a program at ASU promoting higher education in the Hispanic community.
Martin is currently a member of the Advisory Board for the W.P. Carey Executive MBA Alumni program as well as a member of the Board of Directors of the ASU Alumni Association. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of NPower Arizona, where he served as the Board Chair in 2006/2007. Martin also participates on the Board of Directors for Protecting Arizona Families Coalition and Parenting Arizona. He holds a B.S. in Business & a W.P. Carey MBA from Arizona State University.
Martin was born in San Luis, Sonora, Mexico and has lived in Arizona for more than 30 years. He enjoys all types of activities such as golfing, biking and working out. He is an avid sports enthusiast as a spectator and participant, and he coaches basketball and baseball as a volunteer. He is the proud father of three sons, Vince, Alex and Jacob.
